These guys are Paul Neon and the Saints, with drummer Rick from ' Cliff Bennet and the Rebel Rousers'. It seems you can't keep a good band down.
These guys who all know Mel from his beach days and have even sat in on live sessions, are still gigging around the British clubs.
Maybe we will be able to see them down on the Costas, who knows?
In the seventies Mel had a partner in a comedy duo "Williams and
Carr" they toured Europe, America, Hawaii and places as far apart as Korea and Bristol!
After 30 years without contact, Mel received a mystery message. It was his old pal Vince and his wife Pat.
A reunion is set for February here in Spain. "I reckon the explosive meeting will be seen from space" says Mel, "Life is too short to lose contact with people who have meant so much in one's life."
Mel and Vince American Italian, wrote and directed several shows
including The Yogi Bear Show which toured the British Isles ending up with a run at the Victoria Palace Theatre London. Yes the guys
had a West End Musical.
Mel's old pal Lee Hazelwood, famed for his song-writing for Nancy Sinatra including the massive single "These Boots are made for walking", passed away aged 78 on August 4th 2007. Lee used to come down to Bikini beach every Sunday that he was in town. Another cowboy heads for the big ranch in the sky. R.I.P.

My friend and partner David Cobb (VOSS) passed away recently. He was part of the English invasion of France of musicians in the early sixties.
As part of Vince Taylor's backing group 'The Play Boys', he shared many adventures before ending up with me and John Lennox as 'YOU, ME and HIM',
We were an acclaimed comedy act that played for two and a half years at the famed Crazy Horse Saloon and toured around Europe.
Voss retired long before many of us, so at least he had some good and peaceful years. Or maybe he would of thought of the old times as the best years.
Here's a picture of the Playboys Joe Fagin seated and Voss half way up the threesome.
Luv yer and miss yer! Mel and Joe.

The Drive of your Life!
If you happen to be watching UK or SKY TV these days, you may have noticed the new Peugeot advertising campaign - featuring lots of bizarre adaptations of Peugeot's popular 206 model. What you may not have noticed though, is a familiar face! Next time you see the advert, look at the driver of the motorcycle and side-car and, yes you've guessed it, Mel strikes again.

Mel's Mid Life Crisis!
On December 10th 2006 Mel joined the Northwest bikers who got together for their annual "Toy Run" in Manchester. He was loaned a wonderful Harley "Wideglide" by the hard-working organiser Steve - better known as Ratty - Treasurer of Mid-life Crisis Motorcycle Club (MCC)
The Toy-run was attended by over 1,000 riders and bikes and it was all in aid of Francis House Children's Hospice and Pendlebury Children's Hospital.
Over £20,000 was raised for the hospice and more than 2,000 toys were donated to Pendlebury and other children's hospitals in the region.
Mel was proud to be an outrider to Ratty who had the charity's patron Beverley Callard (Coronation Street's Liz McDonald) riding pillion.
